What Classes You Should Take:

You Have Previous Referee or NCAA Playing Experience AND you have never taken an online class at Water Polo Academy

-Minor Fouls
-Major Fouls

You Have No Previous Referee or NCAA Playing Experience AND you have never taken an online class at Water Polo Academy

-Intro To Refereeing
-Minor Fouls
-Major Fouls

Previous Referee or NCAA Playing Experience AND you took a SCAF Clinic in 2006

-Major Fouls

Previous Referee or NCAA Playing Experience AND you have already taken Minor Fouls and Major Fouls at Water Polo Academy

-One Advanced class each year (Advantage or Whistling the Center Positions OR Review of Major and Minor Fouls

THE INSTRUCTIONAL COMPONENTS:

There are currently four (6) Instructional Components. (Please see the “Referee Training Class Schedule” on the Referee link at usawaterpolo.org.)

1. Introduction to Refereeing

2. Intermediate Course - Minor Fouls

3. Intermediate Course - Major Fouls

4. Intermediate REVIEW course: Review of Minor and Major Fouls

5. Advanced (Advantage) Course

6. Advanced: Refereeing the Center Positions

These modules are offered “On-Line” only.

Each module is comprised of text, videos, graphic illustrations, and relies heavily on student interaction through required participation in instructor-generated discussions. All include a written test.

Current Cost for the “On-Line” Instruction (subject to change and/or modification)

$40.00 per class for USA Water Polo Members Only. All Others Add $20.00 Per Class

Class size 10-30 students

All Modules - $40 each

At least one of these modules will be required every 12  months,  in addition to hands on training and observation along with written evaluations.
